Izakaya Hachi in Costa Mesa is definitely worth a visit! All the food here tonight was beyond delicious. A little pricey but it's a great spot to come once in a while. Here's what we ordered.Assorted Sashimi:We ordered the Assorted Sashimi and after we were done, the waiters took our shrimp heads to the back and deep fried them for us. Tasted like shrimp chips + shrimp tempura had a baby. You have to order 2 servings minimum of the assorted sashimi however.Beef Tongue:Probably the best beef tongue I've ever had. Thick cuts of meat, it felt like this was beef tongue steak. The texture was great and just the flavors of beef tongue was really good.Toro Taku:The Toro Taku roll is made of blue fin toro and takuan radish. Really good and I would definitely get again.Chicken cartilage skewer and chicken thigh skewer:Both came with two skewers each and both had an option of salt or sauce. We got sauce for both and it was very delicious. Definitely want to try just salt next time. Their cartilage had great texture and the thigh was very soft and juicy.Shishito and Mushroom:Great appetizer! Loved the mushroom flavor and you can't go wrong with shishito peppers at izakaya.#foodie
